Medical gas pipe line(MGPS)

Medical gases are used for patient’s healthcare in multiple ways. In 1950s, healthcare providers recognised
the hazards of using heavy high pressure cylinders of medical gases. Instead, medical gases and vacuum
systems are provided by medical gases pipeline system (MGPS). It is safe, permanent and cost-effective
mean of provision. In general, medical gases are specific gases that are separated from the air individually
for various medical applications.

• MGPS is intended to be a safe, convenient and cost-effective alternative to the
  use of “portable” cylinders, compressors & suction units
• It delivers Medical Gases, Medical Air and other gases from the source of
  supply to the terminal unit by means of a pipeline distribution system.
• MGPS also includes Area Valve Service Units (AVSUs) for isolation of the
  system for servicing or repair.
• It includes Line Valves and Line Valve Assemblies (LVA) (complete with NISTs)
• In MGPS, Pressure Monitoring and Alarm Systems are integrated to alert the
  medical staff
